In 2026, Oregonians and friends everywhere will  come together to celebrate a remarkable milestone: the 100th birthday of the Astoria Column.

For a century, this iconic landmark has towered above the Columbia River, welcoming visitors, inspiring imagination, and telling the stories of Oregon’s past through its stunning, hand-painted murals.

 

The centennial celebration is a joyful tribute to history, culture and community honoring 100 years of exploration, creativity, and regional pride. Leading up to the grand celebration on July 18th, friends and neighbors, locals and visitors alike, are invited to gather for special events, shared traditions, and moments of reflection and fun.
